The urgent care and assessment team were immediately responsive to my mental health crisis. The nurses who visited me at home were kind and compassionate and there was some continuity with who I saw. I subsequently had a number of sessions with [name removed], assistant psychologist. She was warm, kind, empathic, listen intently and, through time was instrumental in helping me to challenge some of my thinking styles. I will miss her!!
Suggested improvements
I was asked in a non-chalant way by someone I spoke with from the team early on in my care (someone I did not know at all) on the phone if I had ever experienced trauma. I do not believe this is acceptable. It takes time, effort and a therapeutic relationship to even begin to ask such questions in what, I felt, was a cross way.

Mostly good, but sometimes I did not feel treated well at all! Some was very upsetting and made my mental health worse.
Suggested improvements
Some staff could have been kinder!
I felt very upset by treatment at times - one call made me cry!

The UCAT team have been very caring. Supportive and have given me a mixture of practical care and academic support for example introducing distress tolerance worksheets. Overall an excellent service considering the huge demand for their services.
